Watering For Topsy Turvy Tomato Planter
I have a Topsy Turvy Tomato Planter and live in the southeast where temperatures are quite high at this time. How often should I water and how much?
Great question! With any type of container garden, you sometimes need to water none, once, or even twice per day.
But I would bet that if you are experiencing extreme temperatures, you might find it necessary to water twice daily. BUT, here's the best way to know.
In the mornings, lift off the lid of the Topsy Turvy. Push your finger about an inch into the top layer of potting mix. If you feel dampness, don't water but check again later in the evening. If you feel dry soil, then by all means water thoroughly (until water is seeping out the bottom of the container.)
You might find watering in the morning is all that's needed, but for sure check them in the evening time to see if they have dried out.
