(Container Gardening For You)
Anise Hyssop is commonly grown by gardeners as companion plants along with lovely ornamentals or herbs.
Although its name suggests that it belongs to the hyssop genus, it does not.
The plants also smell like anise, even if they are not in the anise family.
If you plant these Organic Anise Hyssop Seeds by Seed Needs at home, your garden will surely be filled with beautiful colors and pleasant scent.
Anise Hyssop technically belongs to the mint family. The plants are very aromatic, with a sweet licorice-mint flavor.
Their fragrance and color is also retained even when the plants are dried. The leaves look like a bigger version of catnip leaves, often used as tea when fresh or sprinkled to salads when dried.
Both leaves and flowers are edible and may be consumed raw or cooked.
The mature plant grows to a height to 24 to 36 inches tall and blooms every year.
