Names of flowers: A = Daffodil

Daffodils are one of the most reliable spring blooming bulbs you can plant in your containers or garden.

Daffodils are the perfect choice to fill a container for early spring color if you live in an area with deer or rodent problems.

They aren't bothered by either, they multiply easily, and are not picky when it comes to growing conditions. They just require excellent drainage and full sun.

Like sunflowers, daffodils turn their "face" towards the sun, so keep that in mind when placing your container in its location.

Daffodil varieties range from miniature types, perfect for containers to large trumpet types.

Some are double, and though very showy, they tend to droop down, most are single types.

Colors range from white to all shades of yellow, to peach and orange and some are even greenish-yellow. When growing in containers, do not allow the bulbs to sit on soggy soil, as they will rot. Daffodils prefer slightly acid soils. Plant them twice as deep as they are wide.

Daffodils die to the ground in summer, but they are reliable and tend to come back year after year.
