There are some general rules about which plants are best for your miniature fairy landscape.

Plants like boxwood have a resemblance to little trees. Ground cover plants are good since they usually have little flowers and leaves and are quite hardy.

Herbs can turn a whimsical fairy yard into something you visit daily to pick your fragrant herbs for supper.

Be aware that any vegetables you grow will disturb your landscape when it comes time to harvest, so keep the plants of the kind you can admire, or gently pick at throughout the summer.

You can ask your friendly gardener at the garden center for plants that don't get huge and spread out too much, and they can give you good choices.
