Petunias are among the easiest perennials to grow.
You'll not have to look far to find a container that is home to at least one color and variety of petunias.
The petunia is a forgiving flower. It prefers a soil that is moist rather than wet.
This means it only needs to be watered every other day or so. But unlike some other perennials, the petunia can also thrive under wetter conditions, as long as the soil drains well.
Some people swear by vertical gardening for petunias, which works well in containers or raised beds.
As for color, there are few colors the petunia isn't available in. Red, yellow, white, blue, pink, purple... take your pick. By mixing colors you can create a virtual rainbow to catch the eye of accomplished gardeners.
Petunias grow quickly; filling your container with color in a very short while. Removing wilted blooms ensures your container garden will be filled with color from early to mid-spring until after the first hard frost.
