Vining petunias are one of the easiest and most popular flowers growing.

The petunia is a very forgiving flower that is tolerant to dry conditions, but optimally thrives in moist, well-drained soil.

This particular variety of petunia is a vining petunia. It grows out rather than up.

Vining petunias average 6 to 8 inches in height. This makes them a great cover choice for the bottom of a container garden.

Petunias come in a rainbow of colors and bloom from early spring until late fall.

Vinca is also a low-growing plant. Some varieties are perennial ground covers, while other types of vinca are annual plants that do not vine. No matter what the variety, though, vinca is easy to grow and prefers partial sun.

Vinca blooms come in all different colors. Their flowers somewhat resemble the petunia or coreopsis.

Vinca's medicinal qualities have been valued for centuries by many cultures.
