By grouping three beautiful containers and filling them with plants that grow best in shade, you can give a splash of color to a dark corner of your garden.

Pansies in dark, rich blue and purple contrast with the chartreuse green of the creeping Jenny in the first neutral colored container.

In the back, Persian shield with its almost metallic shine picks up the pinkish purple shade of the pansies.

A light blue pansy on the second container brings continuity to the grouping.

On either side, mimulus and torenia, both great shade garden performers. They bloom continuously from spring to fall.

Fuschia Baumgarter, a hummingbird favorite, is perennial in warmer zones. It can grow up to three feet tall. It brings a splash of bright color to the back of the grouping.

It is surrounded with chartreuse potato vine and pink New Guinea impatiens.

All the plants in this grouping require constant moisture; the potting medium should never be allowed to dry.Want more? Use the arrows below to see more lovely container garden designs, all with identified plants and care advice.
