We may not have access to a container like the one pictured here, unusual and quite large.

But with a large black container and a group of bright, crayon-colored annuals, one could create quite a showy display, best suited for full sun.

The bright primary colors really stand out against the black container.

Zonal geranium thrives in full sun, grows beautifully if you provide a rich potting mix and blooms non stop from spring to fall, just requiring deadheading and regular watering.

Red alonsoa in the center is another annual suited for full sun. By mid-season, if it stops blooming, you will need to cut back to promote another flush of blooms.

Petunias in two shades of purple, white and pink will also benefit from a mid-season trim when they start looking leggy.

In the back of the container, we see red salvia. It loves hot sun. Red salvia attracts hummingbirds to your garden.

In the far corner, orange osteospermum completes the crayon-box palette of colors.Want more? Use the arrows below to see more lovely container garden designs, all with identified plants and care advice.
