Compost Type For Yucca and Corn Palms

Question:

Hi, I have two corn palms and a Spineless Yucca in sealed pots with general purpose compost. Would Cactus compost be more beneficial for them instead?

Answer:

Hi Matthew,

First, great question. I don't get many about yuccas, etc.

You are okay to leave them in normal potting mix.

But, if you have the ability to use potting soil made for cacti, you can add a couple of inches of course sand to the bottom of the pot....then fill the rest in with the cactus potting soil.

Also, if regular potting mix is all you have, you could also add in course sand to that mix and be just as well.

Good Luck and thanks for the question!
