Aero/NFT combination with CLOONER

Sorry, is in spanish but easy to understand.

After research I came up with this system. It has all the benefits on an AERO and a NFT system. Is the one I am currently using and working on. You can add so many things like stands for light or tall plants, thermometer, high capacity reserve tank, even a cover for those hot places that burn your crop. Nothing to it.

Just some rain gutters, an air/water pumps, 1/2" pvc pipes and connectors for delivery and recovery, air stone, easy access lid to maintain/clean/fill, and filters. Mine has a 22 gal. tank. I grow tomatoes and herbs in it with no problems so far. Hope it helps you build your own at a minimal cost of the ready-made systems that are expensive.

Using Soda Bottles To Catch Overflow Nutrients Mix/Water

I am trying to cut cost and reuse available materials. It was time to design and construct the recovery tube. I cut a 2 1/2 inches PVC and drill a 1" hole on the center of were the water was to be collected and sent thru the PVC to the tank to be pump again.

I cut and used the cap part as funnel and the bottom as Growing container. They are about 4 or so inches and with some cuts they can be hook from the inside of my tubes. Doing holes with soldering iron for roots and will start with Bell Peppers and see how they do.

If you use a 16 to 20 ounces water bottle they can be made to adjust high and control contact of roots with nutrients. My tubes are hexagonal and I can fit my whole arm comfortably. I won't close the system until I get all the pictures in order so you can all look, get ideas and enjoy hydro-cultures. My next post will be more PLANS details on my project.

Try an Error,time to add for a better design!

HI:) In my trial and error list for this system is that the "POTS",CUPS or Growing media should be TOUCHING the solution all the time.WE have to make a DAM to bring the level up or Get longer cups or pots to reach the bottom.Reaching the bottom will clog the system with roots, so building a DAM to raise level we go! Take a piece of flat sheet plastic and trace the drainage diameter tube. Now cut in half and glue before the solution falls into reserve. More space for roots to grow and the level will raise and keep air roots in the water and getting areated water.This is why i call this AERONFT system.Some OXIGANATED WATER always work well.Sugar and YEAST (fresh yeast as the one use in making beer) makes good CO2 when combined in a bottle.

I am trying to design and construct a better system. So far this is what I have going on. Remember to give some inclination for drainage. On the tank cover(if you use one of those plastic containers found on mega stores, you can add a clone system. Ther's air and bubbles going on inside that is just like the small cloner but using the space free on the top we can safe space for more extras.Ideas are welcome and if you see or find something that is wrong and can be made better just mail me with it, or post it here. I'll be watching. Pictures comming soon! Thanks all in advance. This system can be made for a small crop as well as for a bigger one. Mine has 72 plants in it!love those cherry tomatoes!
